PathXL Base provides a flexible content management system that enables users to quickly and easily define the course structure, creating course modules, cases and slide archives. At any time, module creators can rearrange content using a flexible drag and drop facility. Using PathXL means restructuring could not be easier and last minute edits can be done without sacrificing layout.
Additional Modules. PathXL Base can be combined with PathXL OnLine Test module to provide a complete end to end learning portal.
PathXL OnLine Test (OLT) will guide the test creator through the creation of a test using a step-by-step wizard. The test creator has a wide range of test settings and question types to choose from, allowing them to create a formal examination or a repeatable self-learning test for students. With the possibility to have case history on screen, make multiple virtual slides available per question and use multiple image types in the viewer, PathXL OLT is a powerful test engine for digital pathology.
PathXL Simulator is a comprehensive pre-built diagnostic training package aimed at supporting early stage training for residents in pathology. Learning by simulation is a unique approach that allows users to work through real cases in a training environment, in order to assess their performance in making a diagnosis. Diagnosis is broken into understandable and reproducible steps. PathXL Simulator features eleven modules created by specialist pathologists in their field with twenty assessments per module including full clinical history alongside the virtual slide.
The PathXL solution requires only an internet connection and standard internet browser. No downloads or plugins are required. Content can be created and viewed anytime from anywhere.
PathXL can be integrated with windows active directory/LDAP. PathXL also has an integrated user/group management system where roles and access permissions can be defined per user to grant or restricted access to who can view, author or edit course content.
Within any part of course planning, the WYSIWYG editor will allow authors to easily upload an array of multimedia files to support the course. Multimedia types include: standard JPEG images, videos, sound files, Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Pdf documents, amongst many more.
PathXL Base provides users with all of the tools required to author and build online virtual microscopy courses. Whether preparing teaching material for pathology, histology, biology, botany or any other microscopy-based course, PathXL Base helps fast track development and delivery of high quality courses.
PathXL Online Test is an optional module designed to be combined with PathXL Base to create a complete end to end learning portal for undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. PathXL OLT has a simple and intuitive user interface, allowing test creators of every level of experience to define their questions, choose from a wide range of question types and make tests readily available to wide groups of users. Results can be viewed or downloaded in a range of formats.
