The SC100 digital color camera offers unsurpassed resolution with 10.6 million individual pixels, allowing the exploration of even the smallest detail in a single image acquisition, without using any pixel-shift technology. In combination with Olympus’s unique UIS2 optics, it offers resolution approaching that achieved with the human eye when looking through the binoculars - providing an outstandingly clear image to zoom in and analyze. Each pixel is digitized with 12-bit resolution, where only the upper 8-bit are used to provide low-noise, 24-bit color images. This results in high resolution images, without unwanted noise, making the SC100 camera suitable for applications requiring precise documentation and accurate image enlargements, without any loss of detail.
The true representation of a sample is essential for any digital microscopy imaging system. One of the SC100’s key attributes is its ability to achieve real-time color reproduction, faithfully reproducing all of the sample’s hues and details, on screen. Through the incorporation of Olympus real-time color profiles, high-fidelity color reproduction is precisely maintained during live and snapshot imaging.
The SC100 camera provides fast and comfortable frame rates to enable easy panning, focusing and image capture. The native full-frame and two different binning modes - 2x and 4x - are supported, resulting in a maximum live imaging rate of 42 frames per second. The 2x binning mode increases sensitivity to four times the base rate, making the SC100 usable for low light applications such as phase contrast and darkfield.
Using a standard C-mount adapter and USB 2.0 connectivity, the SC100 is easily integrated with any microscope imaging system for perfect image acquisition. By combining the advanced SC100 functionality with the user-friendly interfaces of the cellSens or Stream software, any imaging task is controlled and executed with ease. With the ability to automatically acquire, filter and analyze images, as well as archive and generate reports, Olympus’s fully integrated system effectively streamlines the entire imaging process. Since the software families for life and materials science offer solutions for entry level to advanced imaging and analysis, any user requirements can be met. With the ability to run motorized microscopes, stages and other periphery devices via the intuitive software, users can build complete, automated workflows to meet the application demands – whatever they might be.
