The FLUOVIEW FV1200MPE system can accommodate the non-descanned GaAsP detector unit. This sophisticated unit achieves images with a high S/N ratio, even when fluorescence is extremely faint, by employing a detector that makes use of photo multiplier tubes with GaAsP on the photoelectric surface. This detector offers superior quantum efficiency to conventional PMTs, while noise is kept at low level using Peltier cooling.

All detectors are equidistant from the specimen and allow bright, high sensitivity, multiphoton microscopy. Olympus's own high-performance filters are used for wavelength separation. These can be replaced with other filters depending on the fluorescence characteristics of the specimen.
Two channels use cooled gallium arsenide phosphide photomultiplier tubes (GaAsP PMTs) and two channels use high-performance multialkali PMTs. Depending on brightness of the targeted structure and desired sensitivity, it is easy to switch between these two PMT types, giving the user higher experimental flexibility. Selection of the multialkali PMT channels is ideal for most samples but can also be used to identify the imaging site to be measured with the GaAsP detectors. Switching to the GaAsP NDD detector channels enables high-sensitivity imaging with a high S/N ratio.
The user-accessible filter cube facilitates the easy exchange of high-performance filters.
